Bernard Whitman President

Bernard Whitman, President of Whitman Insight Strategies, is expert at using quantitative and qualitative research to craft and implement winning strategies that successfully position Fortune 500 companies, political leaders, non-profit groups, and literally hundreds of brands, products and services.  Over the last 15 years, he has directed a vast array of projects covering business, politics, public affairs, and government, both in the United States and around the globe.  His particular specialty is developing, evaluating, and refining communications campaigns for a wide range of corporate, political, and issue advocacy clients.

Mr. Whitman has particular expertise in understanding the needs and attitudes of opinion leaders, business decision-makers, and early adopters, having conducted scores of studies focusing on new product launches, free and paid media campaigns, and crisis management.  He helped to develop Quick Response polling, a process that allows clients to receive strategic actionable recommendations based on highly accurate polling data within a matter of days or even hours, and has received the David Ogilvy Research Award from the Advertising Research Foundation.  His clients include AIG, Motorola, Nextel, LG, AMD, BP, Altria Group, Gillette, the City of New York, the American Red Cross, the Human Rights Campaign, BBDO, Ogilvy & Mather, and TBWA\Chiat\Day. 

During the 1996 election, Mr. Whitman pioneered the use of advanced advertising research techniques to dominate the television and direct mail wars on behalf of President Bill Clinton, and has served as strategic consultant and pollster for a range of other world leaders, including President Boris Tadic of Serbia, Prime Minister Sali Berisha of Albania, and President Stjepan Mesic of Croatia.

Mr. Whitman is a magna cum laude graduate of Brown University with honors in political science and international relations, and served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Senegal, West Africa.
